Bobcat CT440
In 2 months or so of ownership a rear three point hitch arm has broken (apparently there is a big problem in the casting so Bobcat is replacing them as they break, they replaced both of mine), a small wire fell off the starter that kept me down for a few days (I think I checked every wire on the rig except this one trying to fix it myself), the PTO stopped working, and now the 4WD has stopped working. The dealer has been very responsive to send a tech out the 50 miles each time but geez... what is going to break next? Otherwise I love this thing. My love is more from the standpoint of a kid in a candy store with a new toy, would really love it if it worked :D I'm waiting for the tech to come out now to fix the 4WD. I'll report back when he tells me whats wrong.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I hope they can resolve the issue easily. I think if I had many more issues on a unit, I'd be thinking about asking the dealer to swap it out for a new unit. It doesn't seem like this is the norm on these bobcat/ Kioti tractors. Best of luck to you.

Wow that is a fairly extensive lists of problems you have got there, sorry to hear about that.

Just by reading the kioti forum, it seems that most of the time when the 4WD stops working on a DK series (bobcat CT335 or CT4XX) it is usually because the little wire that engages and disengages the 4WD has gotten pulled off by some brush or something. It might be a good idea just to look under the tractor for any lose wires (if you haven't done so recently). If you do find it lose, put it back, and your in business: pretty simple fix in my book.

Hope this helps, I am sure somebody who actually knows what they are doing will chime in shortly:p.

I'll look for a loose wire tomorrow. I'm sure it is something simple like this. Apparently brush knocked off the little wire from my starter.

I could not find anything loose. The bobcat man finally came out, did my 50 hours service, replaced the whole relay cluster that caused my pto problem (see other thread), and tried to fix the 4WD problem. Couldn't fix it so he made an appointment for my tractor to go the the bobcat hospital. The next day another bobcat man dropped off a smaller tractor, maybe a CT220, and picked up my 440. The rental has a nice mid-mounted mower. I have a rear mounted mower for my 440. The mid mount one is really nice! I like the controls much better on the 440 though.

Anyway, our dealer, Metro Bobcat, has been very responsive to get this thing working right. Hopefully when it gets back from rehab it will live a happy life.

I have a DK40se which I believe is basically the same as yours. I didn't know about this problem with the casting:eek:, I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed. Did the arm itself break or the casting where it attaches to the tractor? I've had my 3ph lifting to it's max capacity (wouldn't lift) and so far nothing has broken.

The actual arm broke right in the middle. A nice clean break. I was just pulling my bush hog. Wasn't even putting much strain on it.
