Cub 1450 Engine runs for 30/45 seconds

I have a CubCadet 1450 and the engine runs for 30/45 seconds and cuts off. I have tried changing the throttle and the choke with no help. I also put in fresh fuel. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could your fuel supply to carb be restricted/clogged ? Take line off carb and see if it flows well and have a container to catch fuel

Make sure the vent on the Gas Cap isn't plugged. Loosen the cap and see if it continues to run.

I'd check the fuel supply, often with fuel transfer you have a good chance of more then just the gas falling into the tank opening. We find that the fuel supply will be hindered coming out of the tank, remove your fuel line fron the carb and be sure you have a good supply coming out!

The 1450 has no fuel pump, and the tank is right above the carb with a short fuel line.check that you are getting fuel running through the hose and the fuel shut off is open on the bottom of the tank.If it's ok then take off the carb bowl and see if it's full of *&^%$

Note that *&^%$ can include water, laying on the bottom.

Thanks guys , I will try these things and get back to you shortly. I have been out of town so that is why I haven't answered yet. The carb has a new kit bu has been running good

Sounds like you have dirty gas. I'd remove the carb. bowl and drain the gas tank by letting it drain through. Then jam a couple of dry paper towels in the gas tank while the tank is still wet and stir it around with a long screwdriver to pickup sediment. Then pour some more clean gas through the system. Button it back up and you should be good to go.

If that doesn't work, you may have a sticky needle valve.
