Cub 2180 AG\'s

After posting a topic on AG's over the winter and spring and receiving rave reviews from other AG owners, I decided to mount a spare set of wheels I had with AG's. I picked them up at TSC for $65 per. I checked the internet and actually TSC had a good price for them. They are larger than the 23" tires I had on there and so I lose my 6th deck setting (which I never use). Setting 1-5 is fine but 6 rubs. These are the Carlisle Super Lugs, 23"x10.5x12" they are pretty meaty. I will post more to the Cub Cadet picture page/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Shure is purdy Mr.W!! How does the lawn hold up to them? I know I have some areas that could use a bit more traction- that the OEM cheapies dont offer /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Thanks
Joel

Re: Cub 2180 AG\'s

I took them for a spin around the yard after I put them on. I made some tight turns and the grass held up fine. I just drove around, no cutting. They are a lot wider, they stick out from the fenders of the tractor pretty far. The tires stick out as far as my deck cuts on the left, maybe just under on the right. It will be cool to put these things to work when I pull my plug aerator in the fall, no more spining wheels.

I got some of them the other week too, carlisle super lugs. Amazing, makes it a totally different machine. Can you pull wheelies on your mower now? they just dig in and drive upwards /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Another fun thing to try is to tie the tractor to a tree and time it for the wheels to bury them selves /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The best thing is they just power through wet soil and dont clog up like turfs, you can get up seroiusly steep hills in the wet. I have been unable to get it stuck yet unless you bury the tires. Also the great thing is that even when its raining they dont mark the lawn! very cool, as you say, its gunna be great in the fall with the aerator.
Do you have trouble turning though, mine just seems to want to power straight on with these on. Duals next /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Cub 2180 AG\'s

Mith- it definitely likes to go straight. Turning was a little easier with the turf tires. I got stuck at my folks house in May. I took a rented roller there and ran into some soft ground. I had a heck of a time getting it out, I really dug myself in. Finally I put my Dad on it and said floor it while I push. Next year, I shouldn't have a problem.

GC- I keep it clean if I can. My neighbor next door was poking fun at me cleaning it up. In the spring and fall when the grass is sticky, that deck is off after every mow to clean the gunk out. We haven't had rain in a couple weeks, so the grass is bone dry here, so I don't have to clean under the deck. I use a short hand broom to get the grass off the top of the deck and once and awhile I use Simple Green to clean it up. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
