Cub 2542 PTO Problem

I have a 06 Cub 2542 with a problem. I pull out the PTO lever and the blade do not engage. It sounds like the pto in engaging, but the blades are not moving and hense the grass is not getting cut. Do I need a new Belt for the deck? PTO? any help would be appreciated.

There is not many things that can be wrong. Check the belt to make sure its not broken, make sure it is routed around all the pulleys correctly, and you can check to see if the tension pulley is moving when you work the lever to start the blades. Since you didnt mention any smoke or noise then its probably not a seized spindle.
