My cub had been sitting for a few years. My question is; After checking fluids and found to be clean, is there anything I should do prior to trying to move/drive?

I just got out my Cub after six years. I had gone through it pretty completely before putting it away and I think I had even put Stabil in the tank

All I did was put a battery in it and turned it over to ensure that it wouldn't start. I removed the air filter and squirte a little carb cleaner in the carb and set the can aside. It then coughed and ran for a few seconds. I did it the second time and it started up and ran normally.

In your case, it will depend on its condition when you stored it. If it had fuel in the carb bowl without Stabil, B12 or something, then you might have a bigger challenge than I did. If the battery won't take a charge, replace it and then do like I did. WARNING, DO NOT get the idea to spray a stream of carb cleaner or gas or something in the carb while trying to start. Many people have been burned and even killed doing this. Just squirt a little in there and set the can aside before trying to start it.

If the carb cleaner won't make it run, you might have to take apart the carb and clean out the varnish.

Once it's running, get it warm and drain the oil, preferably overnight since the last drops coming out are the grungiest.

Once it's running and engine oil is changed, just go through it as necessary. Lube everything and change other fluids if they were not changed shortly before storage.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted regarding progress.
