Cub Cadet 3235
So, I finally have secured a three point hitch for my 3235. I will be adding a fourth valve and am in the market for something to level and smooth out my 150 yrd + gravel driveway. I was first going to get either a 42 or 48" cat 0 box blade but then I came across a 48" driveway doctor made by Ballard Fabrication. I checked out their youtube video and it's impressive but now I'm torn. I'm still leaning towards the box blade but have some concerns. Will my 3235 be able to rip and pull material (not alot) with a box blade with scarifiers or would the drag be better. I'm just stuck and looking for some advice particularly from those with 3000 series cubs and box blades!!

Hi - I would say the Driveway doctor is OK for leveling loose gravel but it has limted weight and no down pressure so scarifying to any depth would be difficult.

On the other hand the Box blade has a bit more weight and the teeth are meant to dig in and if you do multiple passes with the BB I think it is a better tool for your application.

I have an 1811 similar in size to your 3000 series and have pulled an 8' drag (an old screener screen) and heavy chain for leveling out mounds of dirt before planting grass. The cub can pull it even when there is a 6-8" of dirt built up on the screen.

So I would say Box blade with the only caveat is if you have embedded rocks or ledge in your area or driveway a BB is not the best for that situation.
