Hi Group,
My first post even though I have been reading a lot on this site.
I am considering buying a 5234D with FEL but have a couple of questions for this knowledgeable group.
1. I am concerned about the lack of ground clearance under the rear axle/3 pt hitch. This tractor will not be used for lawn mowing so it will be on more rough terrain. Such as fields, rough roads (paths) and wood lot areas plus used in snow removal. Has the low clearance been an issue for anyone? And should I be concerned?
2. Would loading the rear tires be necessary or desireable with the FEL?
3. How does a price of $10,830 sound for this unit?
Thanks for any info you can share.

I have owned a 5234D for 1 year. I do not have a FEL. I paid just under $10k for tractor and 60" Cub belly mower. With the mower removed I have used a 40" Woods tiller, PHD, 5' box blade, 6' rear blade to remove snow, 5' rear blade for grading and a 24" dirt scoop. I have never had a problem with ground clearance. The deepest snow I have removed in one pass was 9". No problem. I do put 8 42lb suitcase weights on the front when I move snow. I would get the bar tires instead of the turfs.

Overall I am happy with the tractor. I have had some problems but the dealer took care of any problem right away. Cub even extended my warranty for free.

Hi Viking,
Thanks for the response to my ground clearance question. This is reallly the only thing holding me back from buying the tractor. It is probably an issue I should not be concerned about for most of my tractor uses.
I am planning on the bar tires but I wished they offered the industrial tries on this tractor.

I think you'll like the bar tires. Thay don't clog up with mud or snow like industrials can. They get surprisingly good traction. Also, the suitcase weights up front really help the front tires bite.
