Tractor
JD 2320
I have just listed a 2005 Cub Cadet 5252 in the classified section. Tractor is like new w/ 45 hours.

I picked up a JD 2520 (several sizes bigger) recently and can't justify having two tractors (wish I could). So, I need to find the Cub a new home.

I have it listed for $8,495, but would let it go for $7,950. Including the box blade, this unit would retail for just under $12,000. I got a pretty good deal on the tractor when I bought it so, am trying to further discount that price so it will move quickly. Thoughts on whether I have priced it right?

I am having trouble posting pics to the classified section, but here are a couple pictures. Feel free to PM me. Tractor is in Columbus Ohio.

Good Luck selling your Cub 5000 Series Mike. I'm rather suprised you are selling it however. You were such an advocate for the Cub 5000 Series. I see you have also switched to the Green brand. I did the same thing after having 2 of the Cub 5000 Series let me down repeatedly. I know for a fact that you'll be happier now.:D

Good Luck with your new tractor.

My moving up to a JD 2520 is not a reflection on the CC 5252 but rather simply a desire to have a compact as opposed to a subcompact.

I'm still a big fan of the 5252's. For the $, they have no comparison. Other subcuts with FEL and MMM would easily run $4k more.

I'm crazy about my new JD 2520, but there are certain things I actually liked better about the Cub. For example, I liked the FEL controls on the CC a lot better. The controls seem much more direct than the ones on the JD.

There are good reasons why other sub-cuts run a lot more $$$. But I don't need to go into all of that again. So how goes it at pwc Mike?

PwC is good.

Do you have contacts there?

I bought a new 5252 back in 2004 when they just came out. It had the 60 inch deck and was priced at $6900. I thought it was a lot of tractor for the money but you get what you pay for. It was nothing but problems. After I got it home I noticed how cheap it was put together and the deck never did suit me. I have always been a Cub Cadet person and this was my third tractor. I traded it in on an Exmark zero turn when it was less than a year old. In addition, I have also bought a JD 3320. There is no comparison in quality although the price is substantailly higher on the Deere. I may have got a bad Cadet but dealers around here are dropping their franchise because of quality problems.

I was once a PwC employee (great firm to work for :) ) and I keep in touch with a few folks still there.
