bought an acerage and need compact tractor.

The first is a 2001 DX33 with a L130 loader. It has 692 Hours. Also comes with a Woods RD7200 finish mower and 6' command blade. Everything i see says these are good little tractors. I havent read anything bad, but then there isnt a lot of info out there. Hes going to sell it to me for $12k. From what I can tell that is a decent price, especially with everything coming with it. The tractor looks new, hes an older gentleman with a beautiful home and property and takes care of stuff. The break out is 1602lbs and max weight to full lift is 800lbs.

The second is a 2010 Cub Cadet Yanmar 3200 with a loader, 60" belly mower and a 3pt snowblower for $11,000. It has 350ish hours on it. It looks to be a bigger and tougher tractor. Bucket can lift more, tractor weighs more. But its a Cub Cadet, who isnt really known for compact tractors. Looks to be in decent shape. Not all beat up. I dont like the yellow/black paint job, but not a deal breaker. The bucket break out is 2550 and max weight to max height is 900 lbs

The Cub Cadet seems to be the same thing as a John Deere 790. So i think its a solid piece. Any opinions or help would be appreciated.

Is their any real issues with these tractors? Or concerns, or reasons i should look at say a John Deere 1025 sub compact in that range. I see those in the same price range. They are good tractors, my father has one, but obviously alot smaller.

Let me know what you think please.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Sorry you lost me at "Cub Cadet".

Truthfully I am biased against anything with the Cub Cadet label. I don't have enough experience with Yanmar to offer any comments on quality or durability or availability of parts. Case/NH makes nice machines but I found parts are very expensive in comparison to Kubota and usually have to be ordered in. I've had less troubles getting Kubota parts even on older machines. JDs hold their value but I don't see their premiums offering anything over Kubota especially on the CUT/SCUT end of the equipment spectrum.

I'd look for my local CC dealer and see what they offer before I put money on the table. For me that's Homedepot which is one nail in the coffin. Kubota/NH/CASE/JD/MF dealers are all around.

Also check your local neighborhood and see what they use. Around here there are a few CC purchasers but I never see them lasting for very long. Mostly green and orange and blue and red.

I agree on the Cub Cadet name. I had a MTD style Cub Lawnmower a few years back and it was garbage. But i thinkt he Yanmar version is pretty stout from what i see online. Basically a John deere 790 with upgrades?

There is a big difference between box store Cub Cadet lawnmowers and the EX 3200 tractor. Still, I wouldn稚 pull the trigger on that unless he makes you an offer too good to refuse. The Yanmar motor is great, but I would be concerned about the rest of the tractor. I might suggest a Yanmar tractor instead, there are quite a few out there, and they have a good reputation.

The DX 33 sounds like the better choice to me, given the care and condition, but honestly, I would be patient, and keep looking.

I like the DX better for being a Case,I have always thought highly of Case IH/Farmal. But the Cub is Yanmar built, and looks to be heavier built. I like the control layout of the Case better.

The ex3200 is essentially a newer version of the jd790 and built by yanmar with cub labelling, when they were partnered up for 3 years. Im not familiar at a with the case but can speak very highly on the 3200. 11k is a great deal, 10k would be even better. Good luck.

Well I hope you bought the EX3200 as it is one of the best tractors Yanmar ever made. The running gear is outsized for the for the size of the tractor, so it is a very rugged machine. The loader and attachments are Cub but the tractor is all Yanmar. I bought mine in 2010 and only has about 325 hours on it now, January 2019. It has been absolutely trouble free even has the original battery. I use it around our four acres for almost everything and once a year I brush hog my neighbor’s field, that and moving a lot of large stones on this rocky New England soil plus pulling an 18 foot utility trailer, filled with cord wood or 8 yards of mulch is child’s play for this machine. I had that trailer filled with wood and attached to my 4 wheel drive truck, the ground seemed firm but it wasn’t. As soon as I tried to move the truck sank and the four wheel drive did nothing to get me out. I got a long chain and the tractor so I could park on drier and more level ground and that tractor easily pulled truck, trailer and cargo out of the mud onto solid ground. Mine came with FEL and Backhoe, brush hog, extra narrow digger bucket, box blade and all the extras required for the 3 point hitch plus the 18 foot trailer and delivery from Tennessee to Connecticut, about 2,000 miles round trip for $23,000. The tractor, FEL and Backhoe were about $19,000 out of the 23.

Not the same thing, Cub didn’t build the tractor only the FEL and Backhoe, the rest is all Yanmar.

Many JDs come Yanmar powered.
