Cub Cadet LT1045 mower deck springs?

I have a Cub Cadet LT1045 i think 2008 with 290 hrs on it. When i was mowing yesterday the mower deck belt came off again because the spring that keeps it tight came off the deck it actually pulled through the hole it goes in through the metal! Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Does anyone have any pics of the LT1045 mower deck? I'm not sure where the spring should go really the manuel isn't clear about it. There's only two springs and it's the larger one. Here's a pic notice the slot below the hole where it pulled through i just flipped the spring around so the hook if facing a different direction. I guess this could be fixed by welding it.

Some one with an acetylene torch could fix them easily. You might try greasing the spring hooks after you get it fixed to slow down the wear.

I have a 2007 LT1045 Cub Cadet 46" cut and I'm having trouble with a spring coming off as well. The spring I have coming off is smaller (3-1/4" body length and 4-13/16" overall length) than the one you mentioned and is located on the left side under the belt/pulley cover. If the one your having trouble with is 1/2" in diameter and 7" long, I may be able to help you. Can you by chance help me?
