Friday nights snow was the first for this year in Ma. We got about 4" at my house. Saturday morning the wife and I were watching the news when we noticed flashing lights out in front of our house. Lo and behold there was the first idiot of the season to run off the road in the snow. I say idiot because every year since I have lived here (1976), someone runs off the road in front of my house while driving too fast in the snow and ends up in the 3' ditch nose first. There were 2 cruisers out there directing traffic. My Cub saved the day when I pulled this guys nice shiny new 4x4 out of the ditch. I hope he learned something from this experience, that 4x4 does not mean he can go faster in the snow. He did say thank you and went on his way much slower back home to check the damage to his truck.

Like what size Cadet do you have? There was a guy last winter that was stuck pretty good in the ditch by our place last year and the tow truck was having a heck of a time getting him out. So the guy down the road, he owns a TC33D and he said he could pull this guy right out. I told him not to bother, if that tow truck can't do it I don't know how he figures he is going to do it on glare ice with Industrial tires? I think he was offended that I even said it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have a 7275 4WD. The roads were slushy and I had to lock the rearend and he needed to hit the gas in 4WD. His backend was just about airborne with the front end in the ditch. Every year it's the same old story. Last year it was a Ford Explorer pickup 4WD. The year before that was a Jeep Wrangler 4WD. I pulled those out with my S-10 4WD Blazer with a strechy nylon rope that reacts when pulled hard. It is kinda like a "Snatch-um Strap". Go fast till you stop and wait for the rope to do the work for you.

Let him be offended, but you were right. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My tractor wouldn't do it either, so I know his TC33D wouldn't. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

don't care what kind of tires he had; if a tow truck can't get it out, then no samll cut will either. i have helped a few folks out with my little b2400, some i can help ,some i can't. really a lot depends on the particular situation, how is it stuck? what kind of surface etc. just e careful out there, nice to help, but don't do anything dumb. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Last winter my lovely wife "fell off the road" with our Chrysler LHX in the snow. It was high centered with back wheels off the ground about a foot. I hooked on with the JD2210, kicked in the MFWD. hit the diff lock and pulled it back onto the road with no problem at all. I doubted that I could have done it with the snow pack on the road but the proof is in doing. This spring my SIL rolled his Mercury Tracer and landed on its top. Again the 2210 pulled it up onto the wheels, picked up the front of the car with the Imatch hitch and towed it a mile.
Amazing power for the size.

I hauled my wife's Honda up our 1200' driveway a couple of years ago with my Cub. But a little Honda is not quite as impressive as a PU. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
