cub cadet transmission whine

I just bought a 1720 cub cadet. Was wondering if its normal to have alot of transmission whine, especially at low idle. also if there is a filter in the tranny that I can change.

The Hydrostatic drive does make a certain amount of noise. It will whine much louder if the oil level is low.

My Cub 3204 is somewhat hydro noisy - its normal for them

You will notice more trans noise at idle as these units are designed to run at full engine speed. You wont hurt the transaxle by putting around at idle unloaded, but under load, move the throttle to full.
