Figured I would update, since often when Googling a problem you come across something that matches your symptoms...but then never find the final resolution in the thread!

Well, I'm back! 200 hours on the machine now, and hunting for a solution I found my own thread!. Tried all the previous- running with gas cap cracked, replacing the plug, running with air filter off- and no change. But operation is just the same as last time.
I was told then, always turn the throttle to lowest, key on, and wait for it to do it's prechecks (the display will change from battery voltage to mileage) Then start it and adjust throttle as necessary. Which has been fine until I mowed my yard a few days ago. Figured it was the air filter from all the dust, removed the filter and it runs the same.

If it feels ignition like, tear off the shielded spark plug terminal assembly and install a new non shielded one. These go flaky on the Powermors.

Nope- this mower gets used year round, never sitting. This happened after I just mowed my whole front and side yards. I figured it was the air filter, but taking it off to test it runs the same. I'm going to try a new fuel filter and air filter just to know they are not the issue.

Get some mechanic in a bottle and dump that in after you change the fuel filter. It'll clean it up.
