Having downsized, I just sold my Kubota BX2230 and purchased a Cub Cadet GT 2518-48. I did my homewoek and this seemed to be a very sturdy and well built unit. Does anyone have any experience with this or a similar model?
I have a GT2523-54 and I am very happy, I went from a 2166 cub and have never looked back although it was very good to me 318 hours and not a single hint of a problem, I expect my new cub to do the same. I also agree seems like a very soild built GT and a great cut as well /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Stop it! You people are making me jealous! I stopped by my local Cub dealer yesterday to start getting some ideas for what I will be buying this spring. He didn't have but two new ones in stock and a couple of used ones. But it was nice to check them out, however he didn't have anything I was interested in. He said they'll be getting in some of the 2005's soon... so I guess I'll just have to look at y'alls pictures until then!
My 2518 is a 2004 purchased at Knightdale Tractor in
(of all places) Knightdale NC. Check out this link to see the specs and year model.. Powersports Network
(My deck is different than the one shown though, mine has the extendable arm supporting the anti-scalp wheels.)
looks good !! time to trick that bad boy out !! switch all the tires to some Carlisle turf master 4 ply's or Super lugs in rear & turf master in fronts (but make it a 16.5 x 7.5) ....
Makes a world of difference.....the headlights can be updated with 50 watt 1156 bulbs by Blazer (not halogen)...your neighbors will love you at every turn !!
Due to the light weight of our mowers compared to tractors the ags may not cause a problem. When I was using a rear mower w/ my Kubota L3010 I began to see a kind of "deer path" being worn where the treads meet at the centerline of the tires. Be sure to vary your pattern from time to time or this may happen. All the weight of the mower is concentrated toward the center where the "gripping" part of the tread is highest. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Great pics and great info Cubmaster! Do you use any attachments? I will have to maintain about 100ft of rock driveway and have been thinking about the dozer blade. Any info on that?
No I don't have any attachments as of YET /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but i'm already driving the wife nuts about all the stuff I "NEED" and a dirt/snow blade is one of them. I hope to have a blade soon but most likley will be after the holidays. What kinda tractor do you have, or are you getting dmanspadge?
