Well guys, I've decided its time to retire my 1967 Deere 300 backhoe(same as 1020). Im looking at the 3535 and the 4035. Been trying to get prices for each tractor with a loader and backhoe. Ive also got prices with just the loader. Undecided if I really want the hoe. I have plenty of use for one, but they cost so much lol. Gonna go with a shuttle tranny...have no choice with the 3535. I like the power shuttle of the 4035, but stupid me didnt get prices for that style. I run a lot of equipment so I'm not worried about what I get for a tranny as I will just adapt.

Ive probably called 6-8 dealerships.... Locally and in other states. Im waiting to hear back from the out of state dealers. Id like to buy out of state to not have to pay sales tax.

Here's the prices for the 3 local(1hr-2hr away) dealers that I have called. I told each dealer i was interested in the "rock bottom" pricing... 3.99% for 84 months plus rebate. All prices are before sales tax which is 8%.

Dealer 1. 3535 $23100 shuttle and loader. $32100 with loader and hoe
4035 dealer said add $2000 to the price of the 3535
Dealer 2. 3535 $26800 shuttle and loader add $9800 for hoe
4035 $29225 shuttle and loader add $9800 for hoe
Dealer 3. 3535 $21513 shuttle and loader. $29857 with hoe
4035 $23669 shuttle and loader. $32013 with hoe

Dealer 3 actually called the distributor to see if we can still get either tractor and he can still get both at that pricing

If any of the out of state dealers can match dealer number three, I will go that route. One of the out of state dealers actually had both tractors in stock and mentioned that there aren't many 3535's around.

How am I looking so far guys?

Don't worry, be happy; get the hoe and don't look back.

Also, when pricing a tractor with a hoe, make sure you are talking bucket size, too. Bucket is an add on thing... hoe plus bucket is what you should be talking to the dealer about. And to size... I have an 18"... which means the inside measurement near the teeth is about 18", and it is only about 16" down by the pins. Don't go too small if you have clay... Too big is not that good for stumps. If you are trying to move a lot of dirt, a 12" is pretty ridiculous..... I like about a 20", but they didn't sell one...

Well after getting a ton of prices, i think I'm going to buy from dealer number one, who is local. The best, out of state, price will cost me $10-$15 a month less. It is not worth it to make the 3 hr drive out of state.
