I picked up my Curtis Cab from my NewHolland dealer yesterday. My son and I started the installation about 5:00 pm
and had it completed by about 8:00 pm. We havn't got to the windshield wiper, defroster fan or heater yet. That is probably going to wait until the weekend.

I was fairly impressed with the quality and fit of the cab. The installation instructions were clear although some of the pictures seem like they are a photocopy of a photocopy so that are not as good as they should be.

All of the holes lined up nicely so I didn't have to use a punch to help get the bolts through and the company sent a few extra bolts. That helps as we dropped a few.

On the TC40D cab you remove the warning/tail light fixture and attach it to the side of the cab. The holes are pre-drilled for this. Unfortunately, the holes were 1/4" instead of the 5/16" and they weren't spaced properly so a little modification was necessary.

Probably the only area I'm a little disappointed with is the canvas pieces that attach around the break pedals and the hydro pedals. The snaps aren't positioned properly so I can't get a tight seal. I think I will contact Curtis to get a replacement at least for the hydro pedal side.

I was pretty impressed. Of course like most add on cabs there is more noise but it was windy last night when I went for the maiden voyage and couldn't believe how comfortable I was. I can't wait to get the heater going.

I was planning on some pictures but the spouse has the camera somewhere. I will get some pictures hopefully this weekend.

What kind of heater does it have?

Mike, I'm not sure who manufactures the heater for Curtis but it is rated at 15,000 BTUs. It is the new style where you can adjust the direction of the hot air.

Is it electric?

I have never considered a cab for my TC-40D. I don't get a chance to use it that often in the winter and I can't imagine being enclosed for summer work. However if I lived in the snow belt I could see some of the advantages. Do you plan on removing the cab in the summer or is it more of a permanent nature?

Pine Ridge, I will take the cab off in the late Spring. One of the fringe benefits of the cab is the nice location for extra work lights. As we've discussed many times on this board the loader obstructs most of the light from the front headlights. The cab mounted lights are a tremendous help.

I look forward to the pictures to see how it taps into the cooling system.

The Curtis cabs that I have seen for a TC-40D appear to have the ROPS sticking out the top of the cab. Does anyone know if another manufacturer makes a cab that completely encloses or substitutes for a factory ROPS so it cannot be seen from outside the cab?

I would consider a cab such as that. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
