Hello,

I'm not sure if I can explain my problem so it's understandable, but I'll give it a try.

I removed my (burnt out) old flood lights from the front lip of my Curtis Cab. The original flood lights had been installed by my JD dealer and he placed them on the down facing lip of the Curtis Cab, and NOT on the roof top.

I ordered a replacement pair of Auxbeam LED 7" 36 Watt Flood Lights and thought they would fit in the already drilled hole in the Curtis Cab Lip. Well, that part of the installation was OK. But, I am not able to tilt back the Auxbeams enough so they will direct their light onto the road ahead. I wanted the flood lamps for snow blowing at night. The Auxbeams even when tilted as far back as possible only actually light up the back of my hood closest to the windshield.

I searched the Internet looking for some kind of adapter that I could attach to the Curtis Cab lip hole and then attach the Auxbeams to the adapter to give me more tilt capability. I Emailed Auxbeam but have not heard back. I don't want to drill new holes in the Curtis Cab Roof Top. Another option is fabricating some sort of L-shaped bar, but really would like to get a commercially made adapter if possible.

These brackets attached to my Curtis Cab Lip were from the old flood lamps and they don't work with the Auxbeams.

Any suggestions? Thanks for reading this. Any help would be appreciated.

Drill new holes where the lights will work. ..maybe...

Looks like the bracket holes were it mounts to the lights is to close to the cab.. I would fab another bracket that extends out further, are the lights hitting the cab when you tilt them up?

How long are the bolts attached to the brackets? Do you have some room to add washers in between the mount and the cab? Adding washers might give you enough to tilt the angle.. Use a longer bolt, install washes and then seal it with caulking of some kind, silicone etc..

Thanks Atsah,

I don't think longer bolts would help. The problem is not enough "tilt" backward with the bracket that came with the light. If the light could be "tilted" further back then it would work for me. Some kind of L-Shaped bar would probably do it . . . what I need to do is off set the horizontal hole on the lip of the Curtis Cab so that I have a mounting hole that is vertical. Does that make sense?

Something like this . . . I didn't get an A in Art Class

If you look at my picture, the bracket is exactly like that..

Where is that picture at?

I thought just drill new holes further back and on top.. or is there something there that prevents that?

This is the bracket I was referring to.. I would rather make a bracket that would work than drill more holes into my cab..

I finally was able to locate a bracket that works on the slanted lip of my Curtis Roof. I thought of fabricating my own bracket but wanted something better than I could make. Alternately, the nearest machine shop is about 2 hours away from me . . . so I crossed my fingers and purchased several different brackets listed on Amazon that I thought might work. Unfortunately, none of them would off-set the angle of the Curtis Roof Lip. When I installed them with my flood lights all they would illuminate was the hood of my 4310.

The bracket that worked for me (purchased on Amazon) was the Nilight 90026B 2PCS Pillar Windshield Hinge Mounting Brackets for Offroad LED Fog Halogen Work Light for 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler JK,2 Years Warranty. And here is the end result:

Now I just need to clear up the mass of wires in my cab after installing a six rocker switch panel. Thanks again to all of you who responded to my two threads on this topic.

I broke like 3 lights from tree branches that were mounted like that.
