Custom Built Metal Fenders for BX?

Has anyone else thought about making custom fenders for their BX? I got the idea after looking at picture of the Mahindra MAX. I like the look of the fenders on those, I think it makes it look more like a big tractor. I realize the tires are taller too which helps.

I have a BX2350 with plastic fenders and they are cracked in two places already. I know I couldn't totally copy the MAX look because the BX fuel tank is over the rear wheels.

In my opinion, in looking at a few Mahindras, I like the space there is between the tires and frame/fenders. I would bet that most don't need spacers to run chains. I wish Kubota would pay attention to this design in their tractors.

A tough project in my opinion. Just getting the shape correct will be a challenge, let alone a left and right that are identical. If you use fiber glass you will need to first construct forms (female mold) to lay up the fiberglass matting /resin. Sheet metal will require skill and special tools to get good results. If it were me I would either repair the damaged fenders, buy replacement fenders or trade your tractor in for the Mihindra.

I happened by my local Mahindra Dealer today and took a few shots of the Max's fenders. Now everyone will know what you are talking about. (Kubota Engineers: please note the clearance between the fenders and wheels.)
