Just wanted to give a little credit to this outfit for their quality product and their willingness to work with me.
Last year I bought their standard middle buster. I never used it cause I was lamenting the fact that it didn't work on a standard quick hitch. My first reaction was to modify it myself so that it would work, but on a whim, I called up Priefert to see if they could do something for me. I just told them I wanted their standard middle buster, only with the distance from the top pin to the lower pins 15 inches on center. They told me they could do this for a $25 custom charge and that it would take a while.
I gave my local farm store $25, plus my original middle buster which had never been out of the shop; still had the stickers on it.
A couple weeks later, I had the custom unit. The design exceeded my expectations and works perfectly on the quick hitch. It's not my place to tell them how to build their stuff, but I think this should be their standard design.
So tonight I hooked it on the JD 5303 and pulled it through my hard Colorado soil. On several occasions, I was spinning all four tires, so I can say the middle buster is a stout unit.
Here's a few pictures of the fun... The first picture is of Priefert's standard middle buster.
