I know, you aren't supposed to mess with the ROPS. I have pulled into my garage enough times that the thought has entered my head to have it cut & welded in place so that it would be rigid, but low enough to get in & out of my garage. Has anyone done it? There are welds on the ROPS setup as it came new. I figured that a good welder would make sure that it is welded correctly & safely.

I believe if you don't take to much height out and maintain upside down ground clearance it might be ok.Maybe not a good idea, just get off the seat like me.

You have a B7800 right? I believe they also come with a fixed ROPS that is a few inches shoorter than the folding ROPS. My B2710 with fixed ROPS and sun shade just barely fits thru my standard (whatever that is) height garage door. You might want to look into replacing the folding with a fixed.

The folding ROPS, part #SFB-F29A is 10.45 inches taller than the fixed ROPS (SFB-29A) according to Kubota. However, the folding ROPS is required if you use a Kubota backhoe.

And that is primarily so you don't crack your skull on the thing when using the backhoe, I believe. There may be some mount location issues, but I don't think the extra height has anything to do with the rollover function.

I'll bet you could find someone to trade you even up for your folding rops for their fixed rops.. then both would be happy.. and no rops certification would be voided..

I'm not telling you to cut yours, but I did cut mine.
Mine was a few inches to tall for one on my buildings, so I hacked it.
I'm sure mine, yours and the rest are at a tested safety height!
Anyway I do custom roll cages for off-roading as a side job so
shorting mine was simple and it's done in a manner that looks factory!
Come to think about it I never even run the pins in it...to each their own..

Me too Gene, I put a cage on my tractor as well as my Jeep.
