Giving serious thought to replacing my JD 4110 (2005, owned since new) with a CX2510. I'm looking for better ergonomics, better comfort, etc. More power/performance is not a consideration. I was leaning towards the JD 2025R until I found out that the CX2510 cab has AC (2025R cab only has heating). I live 50 miles south of Houston, about 10 miles from the coast, so I get lots of heat, humidity, and mosquitos).

Since the 2025R cab isn't AC'ed, I was not going to get it with a cab. I'm curious about a few things on the CX2510 cab...
  1. When the temp and humidity are both in the upper nineties, how well does the AC work? Can it keep the cab in the upper 70's temp range if the doors aren't opened a lot?
  2. There are maybe six months out of the year where heat and humidity are not an issue. Having never owned a tractor with a cab, I'm not sure if I want to be in a fully enclosed cab on a "nice day". I understand that the back window can be opened. Can the doors be removed? If so, how difficult is it to remove them?
  3. For the same reasons as (2), can the cab be removed by one person?
Thanks,
Ira

No idea on the CX but I have a CK 2620 cab. It does a good job keeping the cab cool.
No, the doors don't look to be that easy to remove and reinstall, lots of heavy glass.
No the cab is not easy to remove and certainly not by one person.
The AC on my 25 hp engine is a noticeable at times.

Only someone that lives near Houston could utter the phrase 'maybe six months out of the year where heat and humidity are not an issue'. I kid, I kid. I spent about 18 months in northwest Houston many years ago. I agree some of the year, it is wonderful (though none of the natives seemed to ever open their car windows). But based on my experience with my CK, you'll likely need the a/c anytime the temp goes above 70-75. Above 80 it is non-negotiable. You have to run the a/c, rear window open or not.

I'm not familiar with the CX, but I would think with a/c the cab would be for all intents and purposes not removeable. Being in NY, we have a lot of humidity as well, and we do see 90 from time to time. As said above by Lou, the a/c is very effective.

My advice would be that on the next 90 degree day, swing by your local dealer and take a test drive in the middle of the afternoon. See what you think.
