I'm looking at replacing my JD4110 CUT with a CX2510HST (with cab), and I have a few questions...

  1. I have a grapple on my 4110 and use an Artillian diverter to control the close/open function. Most of the threads I've read here for the CX2510 talk about getting a 3rd function kit for the grapple. My limited understanding is that the 3rd kit function is different than the diverter, although they are similar in functionality. Since I'm familiar with how a grapple works with a diverter, I would probably want the same for the CX2510. Will a diverter tied into the curl/dump lines work the same with a grapple on a CX2510, i.e., diverter button pushed causes curl/dump to become close/open until the button is released? Does a 3rd function kit operate differently and/or better?
  2. My 4110 has independent rear- and mid-PTO's, and a MMM. It has one 3-position lever that chooses between mid, rear, and both (no "all off"), and a knob that I pull to activate the PTO(s). Kioti dealer tried to explain to me how the live PTO's work on the CX2510, but it didn't make much sense to me and he couldn't relate the differences of the 4110. Once the PTO(s) on the CX have been activated by pushing in the clutch and moving the PTO control lever(s), is there any difference operationally between the 4110 and the CX? Do I ever need to turn the PTO off unless I'm stopping the engine? The dealer said you don't have to push in the clutch to activate or deactivate the PTO's, but sometimes it makes it easier. Is that really true?
  3. I want to get a top-and-tilt 3PH upper link. What hydraulics do I need to order to support this? How is the top-and-tilt controlled? I don't have one of the 4110.

I did more research, watched a few videos, and I think I know a little more but still not enough. I understand the difference between the 3rd function kit and the diverter. As previously stated, I'm familiar/comfortable with the diverter so that's what I would like on a CX2510 if that's what I get. I think I would rather reserve the rear remote for the hydraulic top link.

Artillian doesn't sell a diverter for the CX2510. Looks like Summit offers a generic diverter kit and a true 3rd function kit, but Summit says the latter is not designed for cab models.

Am I on the right track in thinking that using Summit's generic diverter kit will result in my getting the functionality that I want?

I would check with the dealer. I found the Kioti stuff was cheaper then aftermarket (front third function and rear remote as my open station doesn’t come with a rear remote like the cab does). You will still need to add a diverter or summit kit if wanting top and tilt at the rear. Unless you were thinking of bringing third function to rear.
