cylinder damaged on new 3 pt mixer

A few months ago I bought a 3 point mixer, sold by Agrex. It's made in Italy and is similar to the Cosmo model sold at TSC and other farm supply stores. I don't have rear remotes and it took me a while to find the correct fittings to make up a line to run to one of the connections for my loader joystick loader. Yesterday I finally got the hydraulic parts I needed and proceeded to connect the mixer to the three point hitch. The instructions said to leave the cylinder disconnected and let it manually extend to check clearances on the mixer. When I let the cylinder extend out the rod bent as it came out of the cylinder body. I'm in the process of trying to get a replacement cylinder from the importer here in the U.S. but it will take at least a couple of weeks and possibly a couple of months. The cylinder that came with the mixer doesn't look very good and I'm wondering if there is something I can buy that will be better quality and that I can get sooner so I can use the mixer. I'd really like to go to rear remotes and use a double action cylinder / top link but right now I can't afford the approx. $1100.00 that Agco wants to add the rear remotes to my Massey Ferguson 1533.

If you are looking for a cylinder go to www.surpluscenter.com. They probably have one that you can use.

As for rear remotes, you can put together your own for about $500. A Prince SV valve, some fittings and hoses from Surplus Center and you have it. There have been several posts describing how to do it. Now that the search function is working you should have no trouble finding them.
