Greetings to all, first time poster.

I recently bought a YM2500 for a good price and because of excessive blowby and other issues, I'm planning to replace the rod bearings, rings and sleeves later this spring.

Got a service manual on order but I do have a quick question to help me plan things-

Are the Yanmar cylinder sleeves replaceable once the head is removed...Are they dry sleeves pressed in place needing machine shop work to swap, or do they push out once the head and oil pan are off?

Any comments about an in-place rebuild are welcome.

The 2500 uses wet sleeves which may be a little stuck sometimes but they will pull out by hand.
