D&G Deere dealer now selling Kubota?

Just heard this today. D&G are a large chain of John Deere stores, in Michigan. I found it surprising, I noticed that come up on Google as Kubota Dealer. These guys sell big iron, big combines, all green unti now? This also puts a much smaller Kubota dealer about a mile away in a bad situation. This is going to be interesting on how it turns out.

Take what you see on the internet with a huge grain of salt... many, many errors and much out of date information. Commercial listings are very prone to such errors. The manufacturer's website will probably give you a more accurate list of their dealers than a Google search.

I have never seen a JD dealer carry another tractor brand in my admittedly limited travels. I had thought that JD corporate policy prohibited this, but a post in another thread a few years back dispelled my view. The poster pointed out a JD dealer near him (western TN?) carried another brand (MF?).

There are a handful that do.

The internet says we're a Mahindra dealer. I've contacted the website that says so several times and they never change it. We get periodic phone calls because of it.

Yep, back when I bought my Kubota L4200, the dealership I dealt with sold both John Deere and Kubota tractors and equipment. I was trading in my low hour JD 2350 and they gave me a real good deal.

I didn't see it on the web. A friend of mine, a life long farmer here, told me about it. He was surprised, as he thought JD wouldn't allow it. He knows a lot of folks there, bought a lot of green stuff. I looked it up on Google later.

D&G used to buy a Kubota each spring at their locations to allow customers to compare them against a Deere as a sales tool.I guess that method isn't encouraged in sales meetings anymore if it's true they now sell Kubota.

I'm probably right around the corner from you and know the local dealers well. Foote tractor opened their dealership in Howell some years back and sell Yanmar, but sell Kubota at their other dealership approx 30 miles east. When I asked the owner why they didn't sell Kubota's at this location he stated that he'd love to but Kubota's corporate policy was to not allow competition with another nearby dealership. Deer creek sales (yes, a Kubota dealer named deer) is approx. 15 miles east so I'm assuming that is the competing dealer he was referring to. D&G is probably only about 2 miles from Foote, so I guess that at least at that location they won't be selling anything other than Deere.
