I have a new to me d1600 and was bush hogging and could feel the the cutter pushing when I pushed the clutch in. Should I get an over running clutch adapter, and will I to get a shorter PTO shaft for the cutter?

I have been told the over running clutch is a must on these smaller tractors.

You might have to shorten the pto if you put the orc on. You'll just have to try first. If you do have to remove some of the shaft make sure you take equal parts off the inner and outer. I don't know why but I've heard that many times. My 1450 could use one too but I just knock it out of gear in those situations. I just use a 48" rfm on mine, no bush hog.
