DAKR Panter FD-3

Since last summer, a professional gardener has helped me mow my 1.5 acre meadow, as I have no suitable mower attachment for my BCS 740, for that kind of mowing myself. The gardener used a DAKR Panter FD-3 with a 2-disc drum mower, produced in the Check Republic. Having read the thread on the Serbian made FPM Agromehanika 2-wheel tractor, I thought the DAKR could perhaps be an interesting option - especially to some of our european members.

This is the tractor in question:

As my gardener was very satisfied with the performance of his tractor, I got curious to know more, and wrote for the sales material from the German agent. This I received a year ago, so please note, that the prices mentioned are from early spring 2017!

The Panter FD-3 is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton 13.2 HP gasoline engine, and a hydrostatic drive, providing forward speeds of 0-6.2 mph, and 0-3.1 mph in reverse.

The official price for the Panter FD-3 including the 48" drum mower a year ago, was 5142 Euro (6163 $), including VAT. The tractor itself was priced at 3275 Euro (3926 $), also including VAT.

Thank you very much for your reply and your offer.

I am pleased with my BCS 740, and I have no plans to buy another tractor. That said, I think this tractor offers very good value for the asked price, and it might be an option for some members looking for a 2-wheel tractor. The price for the DAKR Panter FD-3 according to the 2017 price list, is lower than the price I was expected to pay for a Ferrari 340 (identical to the BCS 740, except for the plastic parts) in 2011, as I was looking for a tractor. On top, the Panter FD-3 comes with a hydrostatic transmission. My gardener uses his Panter professionally on a daily basis, and he is very pleased with its performance. Last summer we were mowing tall grass that had not been mowed for years on my meadow, and the tractor made a nice job, although one could hear that the engine was working for its money.

I was very impressed by your Englisch at first, but being from Atlanta, of course gives you an edge :thumbsup: I live in Germany since 18 years, having worked hard to master the difficult German language. Reading and writing in this great forum, gives me a chance to practice my Englisch.

I know when I was first looking for a mower, I looked at the Dakr products, but ended up with Vari. Maybe just price was the factor, and also having a cutter bar mower from ESM available for the Vari, whereas it seems Dakr doesn't offer cutter bar mowers.
