Dale Phillips Rotary Cutter 6 foot advise

Does anyone have a Dale Phillips Rotary Cutter 6 foot? I know they are old cutters but I want to make a link that will float similar to King Kutter and I wanted an opinion on whether this is a good idea or to just leave it rigid.

Hard to see in the picture but this is the swivel or float I built. I also built chain guards and slip clutch cover on it. Just wondering if I should go for it with the float or go rigid. I bought the shredder used for 300, gear box seems to be in good shape. Thoughts?
