One of the best hunting conventions that I've been to is the Dallas Safari Club one that starts this week. There will be outfitters from all over the world, along with gun manufactures, equipment suppliers and all sorts of things outdoors. I rarely buy anything, but really just enjoy walking around and talking to the venders. I've met some fairly famous outdoor painters, writers and guys from the TV shows there. I've met Craig Boddington twice!!!!

Karen and I are planning on making a day of it Saturday, the 11th, or if the weather is bad, maybe Sunday the 12th. We're are thinking about a trip to Africa either this year or the following year. We wanted to make it a celebration trip after she gets her PhD, but of the three classes she needs to finish it isn't available until the spring of 2015. So we might be thinking the summer of 2015. Either way, it's just fun to see what's out there and start talking to those we might like to hunt with. I've been on one African safari to Namibia and really want to go on another. Karen has never been to Africa and is just getting into hunting.
