I guess a rodent chewed through the little tube on the top of the manifold of my 5510 causing me to leak diesel. I am having a hard time getting it disconnected from the tee. Is this just something that I can cut off of the tee and replace the short limb or do I need a new tee also and reinsert it into the longer lengths of tubing. I do not have the tube with me, it is at the farm, does anyone know what size (diameter) it is?

Don't have specific answers for you, but when dealing with situations like that in the past I had to get all new tubing or cut back the old tubing and splice in farther from the tee (but then you're adding a new place for leaks/problems, so I'd prefer a whole new length of tube).

Be careful not to tug too hard -- old tubing gets stiff and brittle, and doesn't usually tolerate a lot of wiggling/jiggling before the barb fittings no longer seal. In trying to break loose that one leg of tubing, you're liable to loosen the other ones to the point of leaking.

You could try gently scoring the old tubing with a knife and see if you can split it off the tee fitting. Be careful not to poke the knife through to the barbs except for at the very end of the tubing where a little contact won't matter. If you can get that end split and then gently score the rest of the tube you can probably peel/roll the split end with needle nose pliers to get it off the barbs and fitting.

That is the excess fuel return hose, it sends any excess fuel back to the pump and the tank.
They are normally 1/8" or 3/16" ID low pressure hose.

Thanks, still a fairly new tractor so hopefully not brittle yet. When I pick up a new tube I will see if they have a new tee in stock in case I miss up the barb fitting.

Don稚 just pull. Twist first to break it free. Then pull. Usually you can cut just a little off of a hose to get a fresh bite...

A bit of heat from a heat gun, after scoring with a knife and they will peel right off.

When I look at that tube,I have more questions than answers. My equipment is as old as me but fuel hose is normally clamped. Are those hose and barbed fittings same as available at auto part stores? I find cutting hose off at end of barb before attempting to to split and peel make's it eaiser and less likely to damage seal at other 2 connections.

This is very low pressure fuel return line with little or no backpressure, most are not clamped.
