Out of an abundance of caution, Target will no longer sell Pokémon and other trading cards in its stores in order to protect the safety of employees and customers.

You can’t make this stuff up if you tried.

Don’t ask me what a Pokémon is but I collected baseball cards as a kid. Never worried about safety.

Out of an abundance of caution is overused.

My BIL tells of putting those same baseball cards into his bicycle spokes when he was a kid. Now he wonders how much money he could make if he had saved them. I keep telling him that we had toys to play with, not to view as investments.

I did the exact same thing.

Probably a Nolan Ryan Rookie Card.

But, who knew in 1967?

Never was a sports fan and even less so today for so many reasons. But, for some reason, I bought baseball cards, though I never really played the game and watching it is like watching grass grow. I did put the cards to make a racket on the bike spokes, so maybe that is why I bought them in the first place, well that, and the bubble gum. :ROFLMAO: My mom has kept many of my boxes full of toys and she is returning them to me over time. :D I might actually have some of the cards in a box somewhere but I doubt they were worth anything.

She did give me a box full of stuff and it included my model making tools and paints. Those paints still looked good, and I will not say how many decades old they are, but some where bought before there were micro computers. :) Got curious and searched the web and YouTube for some of the old model companies and at least one is still in business. There are people still making models and the paint systems they have today are mind blowing.

Later,
Dan

If you have 1967 or 1968 cards the odds are you may have something worthwhile.

I have a late 1970's baseball autographed by the Chicago Cubs. It might be worth a couple of dollars.
