How do you change the oil in a Branson 2400; 24 horse. There are 2 places that say oil on the cap, but they don't specify what type of oil. One is on the valve cover and the other is on the left side of the engine when facing the tractor. Which one of these gets the engine oil. The operator's manual does not show that it just says to change the oil and filter at 50 hours.

Can't help you with type but your manual should guide you the correct engine oil. Generally I use a diesel specific 15w40 in most of our diesels.

I've seen plenty of machines with two oil fill caps, most of the time as you described. Its because these engines are used in different applications where one or the other are more easily accessible. Can't go wrong with the one on the valve covers if there is a question.
