Hi all,
I was just thinking... how it would be benificial for all, if there was a seperate forum to discuss the experiences people have with the dealers they have dealt with in purchasing and service issues. I have had experiences with several dealers over the years. Some good... some pretty rotten...
It would be nice to have a place to share these, so others can read about them. Then, when they walk into a dealer, they have a little insight on how they may be treated.
For me, word of mouth advertising plays a HUGE part in where I want to spend my hard earned cash.
I see forums like this on other sites on the internet. What do you all think about getting one here?

This is a common question and topic. The issue with discussing dealers, whether in a separate forum or within an existing forum/thread, is not the posts about good dealers. The issue is posts about 'bad' dealers. In the case of 'bad' dealers, we'd only be seeing one side of the story. Does the person complaining have a legitimate issue? Who knows? Is the person complaining really a consumer or another dealer? Who knows? Not to mention the liability assumed by the poster (Click Here) when they make derogatory posts.

For these reasons, plus other ones I imagine, the owners of this site have decided dealer bashing is not allowed.

Regarding setting up a separate forum to discuss dealers without bashing...Perhaps one of the site owners can comment. My thoughts are; dealers are already discussed within each brand forum, a Dealer forum would probably need sub-forums, organized by brand or location, and it might simply duplicate information found in existing forums.

Let's not forget even if you allowed BOTH sides of the story to be told, you would have a terrible case of "my word against yours" and who can tell which is the truth?

With that said, we are always looking for ways to improve the forum and the site with new features and sections and so it's good to hear what people want. But our main priority is keeping the friendly and helpful attitude of the site the same. We don't want a new person to come in, see nothing but arguing over various points about who said what, and then decide they don't want to post for fear of getting flamed.

But hopefully some of the new features we have in the pipeline for next year will really prove useful and fun for everyone.
