Dealer Prep of Bush Hog PH digger ?

I will be picking up a new Bush Hog 2102 model Post Hole Digger with hydraulics.

Dealer ask if I wanted him to leave it in the crate as it is easier to transport.
Of course I would have to assemble the Unit out of the crate.

Is it worth it to leave it in the crate ? How much assembly is there ?
The Dealer is going to give me the lube etc.

I agree with the dealer. They go together pretty easily. Make sure you do have directions though just to fall back on if you need to.

I assembled mine but if you have the ablitity to transport an assemblied unit I would definitely have the dealer assemble the bh. Unless the dealer is charging you for dealer prep and the few extra bucks is an issue! Just MHO -Ed

I always have the dealer assemble and test the items that I buy. It may save a trip back or having them come out to fix something.

I'd leave it in the crate. Your looking at just putting on the PTO shaft to the gear box and attaching the gear box to the arch. 10 min job .

It's also MUCH easier to get onto the tractor one part at a time. They are very akward to deal with. I did mine once and built a tube frame stand on wheels to ease attaching.

By all means have the DEALER assemble them. If they dont work its on their shoulders.
They have to honor the warranty.

A buddy bought one and was told that it did indeed have gear oil in it. However, after running it for awhile, he decided to check it anyway and indeed it did not have any oil in it!
