Hey Gang.
I'm jumping in with both feet here as a newbie and figured it was time to stop reading and start asking some questions. I've finally decided on a 3015HST (used a friends 2015 and test drove the 30) and am trying to make the next painful step of picking who I "want" to give my money to. I have a couple of dealers I can work with but one is much closer. I guess what I wanted some imput on was how far do you consider "far" when looking at a dealer? One of the guys is about 100 miles away and is offering a pretty good deal...figures. Is this ridiculous when it comes to service? I have a business down the road from me that repairs tractors, mostly older models, but they would probably be available in a pinch; is this something to factor into the decision? I can turn a wrench a bit but I have no experience with diesel. Also, anybody have any dealings; good, bad, indifferent with the folks at Orchard Hill Farm Equiptment in Belchertown MA? Oh and please don't change my mind about the 3015 because with the amount of time it took me to reach that decision, I'm quite sure my wife would put me and the tractor curbside if I change my mind /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks in advance for any and all advice you all have.

The dealer I bought my tractor from is around 100 miles from me, 50 miles further than the closest dealer. I haven't found it to be a problem yet. They delivered the tractor for free when it I took delivery. I've had it back three times since- once for service, once to have the remotes installed, and once to have the cab installed. When I haul it myself it does eat up the better part of a day, but I like to wander around the lot and look at stuff when I'm there, and shoot the bull, and stop somewhere for lunch. When they haul it they try and schedule it for a time when they're going to be in my area anyway, so they don't hurt me too badly.

As far as filters and parts go, I'll be blunt... I go to my local Cub Cadet dealer, who happens to be only 20 minutes away. My tractor is identical to a Cub 7205. You may find yourself doing the same thing if your local Cub dealer is really close by. I don't know what model the 3015 crosses over to, but there is a Cub equivalent.

BTW, I think you're getting a **** of a tractor. That's what I'd have, if only I could justify it.
