Dealer Support?

Hi all,

I getting ready to purchase my first tractor! I have narrowed it down to a model and brand and have talked to two dealers. Of course, one is about 1k cheaper then the other. (I'm still working on the implement pricing). The more expensive dealer definately seems like they no more and have better customer skills. So my question is other then parts and service, what should some expect for a dealer... support wise?

Tractor dealer customer service and support varies even more than auto dealerships. You need information from people that have dealt with the actual dealers you are considering. Ask locals or post your location.

What models are you considering? Some have better reliability than others.

I am in the Richmond, Va area. I am considering (VERY seriously) a Kubota
L4400 HST.

I would ask... If you have a problem with the tractor, will the dealer come out and pick it up, fix it and return it to your place?

Typicaly us dealers who give good customer service are used to guys comming back and saying "I can get XYZ tractor from ABC dealer for X dollers, I'd rather get it from you... will you match their price". See where that gets you can go from there. Also understand, that good service does cost time and money.

My mind has been made up for me, The tractor is a few dollars more then another dealer, but the implements are cheaper! And they are the same make/model!
