Thanks for sincere advice! Went to the local LS dealer and really liked the XR3037HC, but do not like the idea of regen every 4-5 hours. Seems excessive...Called the dealer who loaned me the Boomer 50. He is going to loan me a 1538 to try out. Will let you know how it goes.

Where did you get the 4-5hr figure? The timing of regen cycles will vary with the fuel, how hard the machine is worked, etc...but I doubt 4-5 hours is the norm. In another thread a poster has shown how bumping the thermostat temperature a bit has pushed region cycles out to 50 hours or so.

True, but the 1538 has NO regen.

Found this and others in the LS - tier 4 section.

I have an XR3037HC. Owned just over a year now with about 70 hours on it. I have had no problems or issues with tier 4 yet other than I think the regeneration cycles seem excessive. Mine regens about every 4-5 hours of use. I spoke to the LS rep about this last month at the local farm show. He stated this is normal. According to the owners manual the auto regen conditions activate (A) when soot levels exceed 60% and (B) every 4 hours after last regeneration. The burner runs for 30-40 minutes. There is a switch on the dash that can be pushed to postpone the cycle but I have not used it. I let it regen on its own in the background while I continue working.

Iam concerned with the heat issue. Its hot here in az. most of the time,300 days out of the year.

4-5 hours would be really concerning, a DPF can only regen about 200 times before the core needs cleaned. The worst I've ever heard would be 15 hours or so for an engine running at low RPM, with heat and rev's 40 is more typical.
