Kioti CK20 HST
Q: Is there a shop/service manual or other book or books that go into more detail about a CK-20 than the owners manual that comes with the tractor?

If the answer is no, fine.

If the answer is yes, what are the part #'s of said book or books and can you order one or all for me and ship it to my house?

You may bill me an extra $50.00 to keep for yourself beyond the cost of the manuals and shipping if you are able to produce the documentation I'm after.

I'm hoping to get some kind of wiring diagrams to help w/ electrical issues w/ my signal flashers, but I can never get a straight answer from my dealer if there's any documentation on the tractor. He's always like "I can fax you this picture I have that shows some relays" -- NO, that's not going to work.

I'd like to get any and ALL documentation that is available for owners or dealers since it seems I'm going to keep having stupid little problems and I'm not going to attempt to fix things strictly by trial and error and continue to ruin various assemblies on the tractor when it's unclear how to disassemble things.

I've seen other threads on here where people talk about shop manuals for various machines... Are they fallacy or reality?

I'm ready to drive down to Wilson, SC, knock on the door, and get into people's faces because this has me steamed big time...

Thanks

I believe there are manuals for the CK20 just as I purchased for my CK30hst. There is the "workshop" manual which gives you an idea how to fix the mechanical areas but doesn't go into much detail. Not like a Chilton's or Motor's manuals that I have used for cars and trucks, but if you are good with a wrench, it's a great help but is limited on diagrams. The manual also has the wiring diagrams of the tractor. The "parts" manual is a great to have. Here, you'll find exploded views of the parts of the various assemblies of the tractor.
You should only have to contact your dealer and he can order them for you. Or there are several dealers on this site, who are a great help in this forum, which would order them and send them to you. Either way, you'll want to get both manuals.

Excellent. Thanks for the info.

If there are "workshop" and "parts" manuals available for the CK-20, then all I need now are the part #'s for each. Then I will call my dealer and tell him to order me one of each "part".

It's amazing -- he must just think differently than me. I'd rather have all the info than have them try to fax pages to me or guess things for each item.

My mower deck owner's manual isn't bad -- it has blowout diagrams of every part and part #'s for each. When taking the belt cover off to grease the whole thing, it wasn't clear how the guard went back on that keeps the belt from hopping off one of the pulleys. A quick look at blowout diagram showed orientation and a footnote that said gap of 7 to 10 mm or whatever -- simple and concise and the deck is set. Same w/ a dual spring pin setup they have that sheared on me earlier this year. No prob, part #'s and had them in a day or two from dealer.

I'm quite good w/ engines and such -- I've rebuilt small engines before. Not a lot of diesel experience. I think it's silly to haul the thing up to the dealer (it would be covered by warranty and not cost me anything), but it's the principle of the matter that has me steamed. I'm also **** about my stuff. Everything on it should function including the hazard lights. They're a safety item when on the road and plowing snow in pitch dark.

It was nice of your dealer to offer faxing you do it yourself repair info...try that with an auto dealer.

You do have a point there.

They've done me good, but sometimes I'd rather just get the info I'm after when the solution they offer is really not what I want.

It's just personality and methods the sales guy there uses versus the mechanic and the owner. It can happen w/ anything.

I called yesterday and got the owner and he ordered the manuals for me.

So we'll see where I go from here... Would like to have everything working before the snow flies... Might have time to work on it during the week next week.

Guys and girls keep in mind if you need parts break downs I can email them to you, but please don't ask for the complete parts book through email.
I don't mind a couple of pages.

Ahhh... Nice.

If this is representative of what's in the shop manual and parts manual, then it will be much better than flying blind. Not a bad investment (about $100) to have the details on your $15K investment.

Thanks for the picture Rick.

I almost called you this past weekend as I know you're open on sundays but didn't want to become a nuissance. I'm giving my dealer a chance first -- I think the key will be for me to deal w/ the owner or the mechanic (Mike and Frank). The sales guy Tom never seems to answer my questions and then I get all frustrated and vent here on TBN! He's a CK30 owner and a good guy, just doesn't seem to approach things the way the other guys do.

Frank is the one who solved my HST vent problem and went through the trouble of pulling the tank and a bunch of other stuff to get at the vent properly for no charge even though Kioti wouldn't warranty the labor. He knows the machines really well.

Thanks again. If/when I get to the bottom of the flasher problem, I'll certainly post as much detail on what's up w/ it.
