EX3200
Due to the wildfire that effected Bastrop last year, I now have more that 4 acres of burned trees and brush plus what we are gonna clear with our neighors. FEMA helped out in removing the large trees within 50 feet of the old house slab and driveway, but we still have many acres of trees to remove. It will come in handy as we rebuild the house. Sooooo, we purchased a new EX3200 as it was by far the best deal we could find - used tractors are few and far between in this area. The FEL is great for moving the sand we have but pretty useless in moving trees and brush. We need an attachment for the front. But just exactly which one?

I have seen debris forks that attach to the bucket, but these seem pretty flimsy. I have seen attachments that have grapples that replace the buckets but I have no idea which would be a good one for my problem. I have seen stuff that used skid steer attachments that looked good, but of course, no skid steer stuff fits. One of the issues is that we can't just rip the old brush out of the ground as there is little to no other growth cover to keep the land from erroading down the hill. Since we spent so much money on the tractor, we don't have alot of money left. Any thoughts as to what exactly I should be looking for? price that I should be prepared to pay? Help!

Sorry I have no idea when it comes to your question but with regard to the ground I would be throwing a bit of grass type seed around to help quickly bind the soil

We did that many months ago - but we have to be very carefull that we tear as little of it up as possible as we clear - keeping the soil in place is a real problem.

I have an EX450 that I had a root rake w/grapple built for. It works very well for moving brush etc. don't know how I lived w/o it. I originally had it built for an older Yanmar, and had it modified for the EX. I paid $1500, as I recall, for the original. Prices of steel have gone up, but that should give yo a ball park. Google "The Rake Shop" (Sam Green @ 352/308/7346). Assy is a little heavy, but definately no flimsy.

We have several root grapples for tractors on our website here. If your tractor is new, it should have a universal quick attach so a grapple fitment will be easy. You will need a 3rd function hydraulic kit to open/close the grapple. We can get one made just for your tractor that you'll find here along with a video explaining it. I hope this helps you.
