I don't have that issue with my TC40DA or my Boomer 8N to your extent. On both the front of the hood is a screen with weather stripping to seal the space from the grill to the radiator. Perhaps it is missing or loose. The Boomer 8N weather stripping on one side tends to fall out of place and that will allow some debris to get into the radiator. I need to get some adhesive so it stays in place. Dealer mechanic told me that is a common issue after a while.

I have the same problem on my Branson 4720CH when mowing in late summer or fall. It is even worse because there are three coolers (Water. Oil cooler, AC condenser) stacked close together. The screen for the radiator is behind the oil and AC, and you have to pull off an air filter plenum to get the screen out. It is too tight behind the oil cooler to screen for a snow brush. I made a 2' long stick about 1/8" thick that I ripped on my radial arm saw to stick in the gap to scrape things clean in the field when ever I see the temp guage rise. That keeps it from overheating. Then when I am done, I remove the screen and clean everything thoroughly with air and water. It is a pain in the hind end, but that is the cost for mowing when seeds are flying. I wish I had a leaf blower, but I wouldn't have another need for it, and the stick works pretty good.
If it has rained recently, the problem goes away. The seeds don't fly.
