</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Tom, for me it had nothing to do with the inspection stations, it was that Kubota must report all loans with the various tax entities. I'm told that is how I was "nailed". I was able to deduct shipping but not handling costs. The shipping cost was very, very, very high /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
PS, that inspection station in Truckee is basically closed. They have not made vehicle inspections there for over a year now. I drive it every week working in Reno. )</font>
Sounds like paying cash could be a lot safer.

B.T.Y. When you bring in a car from another state, not only do you pay licence, registration, and the equivalent of sales tax all over again, if the car wasn't built to CA pollution standards, they slap a big pollution fee on also. There are rumors of strict new CA pollution standards on everything from tractors and big rigs to lawn mowers, everything. All two stroke engines may become illegal.
