It is the PTO belt. Belt and spring come off right after I select the deck level (usually on 1, but today i tried it from 4 graduating down to 1 on very little grass height) and as soon as I pull out the pto button. Well today it came off AGAIN...just had it put on again last nite. We checked for debris before putting the NEW belt (2 hours on it) on so there was no debris in pulleys or belt etc. Guy putting it on for me has a lawn care business and knows what he is doing. This thing is driving me crazy.Shouldn't matter where it was bought the company should make good on it. So it is going into a shop next week. I think it is a design flaw or else something is missing that holds the belt on. Maybe it needs a new spring. But the spring doesn't appear to be a problem.

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifif your mowing with the deck position at 1 you are mowing very low, I mow at the #4 setting. With you mowing at the 1 setting the angle that which the belt has to make may be to severe making it slip of the pulley. try to mow #3 or #4 and see If the same thing happens.

Mowing at #1/lowest setting is generally too much unless the grass is super low and the area is VERY smooth. If the deck wheels are riding on the ground as you mow, the deck is too low. The deck on this machine is NOT designed to ride on the ground. You should also engage the PTO with the deck up at the highest setting as the pulleys will be nearly in line with one another at that setting, thus reducing the chance of the belt popping off. Have you had these problems with other mowers in the past? This mower may not fit your application. You gotta do your homework with these things or it's never going to live up to your expectaions.
