My BX2200 with a belly mower is a great machine, but occasionally the right hand hanger connection of the mower deck works loose while underway. It does not create any real problem, since I only stop and re-connect it, but it is irritating.

The area being mowed is about 3 acres and rough in places. That is, at a good speed the tractor bounces around some. I tend to set the cutting depth at a high level (4") which means the deck is dependent mostly on the hangers for support instead of the deck wheels.

Has anybody else had this problem? Any comments appreciated.

i have the same set up i would guess the spring loaded pin is weak or bent
not allowing it to lock tightly. could be the part on the deck bent also it should not
come loose. something keeping it from locking correctly.

Don't know what is causing the pin to work out, but on the BX220, the deck is suspended, not supposed to run on the wheels, they are anti scalp wheels only. On my 2001, the wheels don't have grease fittings and I'm still using the original anti scalp wheels, they won't last long if you let them carry the weight of the deck all the time.

miker has it nailed here. also when mowing at a lower setting, wheels should be spining when being "brushed" by the grass, not rolling on lawn.
