Deck Umbrellas

How about it. Anyone have an opinion on a good value in a deck umbrella. we have had at least three of the Home depot/Lowes variety (100 bucks) and the end result is always the same-little bit of wind and one of the ribs ends up bending. My suspicion is they are allmade by the same gang in china.

I've gone on line and Sears appears to have some that are in the 200 buck range-don't mind that-if they last!

Have you tried the 2 tier market style umbrella with the wooden ribbing's? and has the slip ring & Pin, the fancy ones with the hand crank always mess up or the string weathers and breaks,

We don't know if we will like or use one much on the deck at the new house, but when the Aldi grocery store had a 10ft offset for $39, I couldn't resist. Not expecting much for the price, but actually seems to be well made; steel frame, solid hardware, anti-wind vent around the top. Had to buy one of the big 25 gal water/sand tanks to lay over the base to hold it down. We've only used it one time so far, but it was great when we did. Costco also had some that looked pretty good for a reasonable price, both offset and regular.

Guys -thx for your comments. Looks like Two tier is out of stock. Tough to buy online when you really can't see quality.

Our two from Costco are going on 6 yo. We try to close them during windy times, otherwise they are out 24/7/365.
