I am trying out a B-7800.

Great tractor. I really like the overall feel. Also seems very tried and bullet proof.

Only complaint-and probably not that big -is that the vibration on the deck is pretty intense.

Any body ever use silicon or some other method to reduce vibration? Is this just the nature of the animal? Compared to a Grand “L” this is pretty intense.

I may just get a leg massage when I mow...

Thanks!

Is this a new or a used tractor?

Before I bought my B3030 I tried a B7800. Same vibration on both. I had to install a spinner on my steering (after 3 hours of mowing my hands were completly numbed). My dealer says it's normal. I tought a 4 cylinder was quieter. Obviously I was quite wrong. I tried a L3130 too... it was very smooth compared to a B3030 or a B7800. So far, I might be the only one to think it's a flaw. If I had to work with my B3030 8 to 10 hours a day everyday I'd sell it without any hesitation and by something more "normal".

It's a great machine nonetheless.

Brand new. Dealer is a neighbor so he is going to take a look at it.
I was driving on dry pavement with filled tires for the first time. He said the vibration may be reduced when I get on soil. Right now it feels like a sewing machine.
I told him I may want to look at a B3030 if there is better vibration reduction.
I am going to have this for a long time and want to get the formula right...Thanks!

My B7800 surely lets me know its runnin, but NO uncomformtable vibrations. It is possible, if the machine has set out in the cold on a lot, that some of the deck bolts or other bolts are loosening due to the cold.

Remember, for a small machine, the 7800 has 30 hp, nothing to sneeze at and a short stroke diesel in it. Its a violent affair ...

I once tested out a TC30 ... now talk about vibrations ... the kubota seemed MUCH smoother ...

Is this with ag tires? Even R-4s? That'll shake you up pretty good on those smaller machines. Try it in your "normal" setting - doing whatever you'll be doing. My little B7300 doesn't vibrate much at all - I spend hours at a time mowing on it and don't get shaken up...

I've got about 30 hours or so on my B7800. No vibration. In fact, it runs smooth as a top. Which suggests yours is not a design problem. Best to grab the dealer by the front of the throat, vibrate your wrist energetically, and tell him to fix the problem.

My B7800 has only 20 hours on it but it has run smooth as silk since I bought with no vibrations.

The only problem with it is the plastic protective cover over the joy stick rattles very noisily when I rev the engine to 2000 RPM or more. Maybe I should put some insulation between the plastic and the joysticK?

Was it really a vibration or a rough ride? I know my B-7800 with loaded R-4 tires is quite rough on pavement but is fine when mowing or operating on grass and dirt. Mine has little vibration even when running at high rpms mowing. I've used mine on several occasions for more than 8 hours straight in one day and never had any issues with my hands from vibrations.
Good luck, and try to test drive another 7800 at a different dealer if possible.

My B3030 did the same thing! A little piece of 3M double sided trim tape fixed that. You can pick it up at most auto parts stores.
