I am looking at purchasing a 6x10 deckover dump. I have found two and each has a couple of different options, so I wanted to ask for any opinions on the option differences between the two. Price is about the same. So which options are more practical?

Construction of each, frame style, bracing, tarp rail, etc. the same with the following difference in options:

One is a Brimar with an adjustable coupler on the trailer, drop leg jack, 20' corded remote, and welded on weight distribution bracket.

The other one is a Homesteader with a top wind jack, wireless remote and one drop down side along 10' length.

It all depends on how you are going to use it and what you are towing with.

I can offer some input on the jack option. I prefer the drop down because it offers better ground clearance. I usually throw a block under the jack, drop it to the best hole then minimize my cranking. I see more top wind jacks bent and twisted on any type of BP trailers. It might help for you to post some model numbers.

The jack clearance is a concern. On an old trailer I had, a regular top wind had no clearance which was a problem. So when I replaced it with a new car hauler I added a swivel jack option which is much better. I believe the drop leg jacks usually give more ground clearance than a top wind. But the top wind on the one trailer does appear it gives more clearance than most. I'll have to quizz the dealer.

Both of the trailers are over 100 miles away so I'm just trying to sort out a couple differences in options that are on the trailers. On the one with the drop down side it was something interesting for loading some items with the FEl, but in real use maybe not that big of a deal.

On the one with the adjustable coupler I wanted to find out if that feature has any bearing if a weight distribution hitch with a weight distribution shank is added in the future or is a non issue.

Go with the drop down jack and wired remote.

The drop down side can be an advantage if you wish to load from the side with forks. At least some kind of wind mechanism can be helpful in getting the right height for coupling.

Yup, even if its overkill, I like drop leg jacks on even my small car hauler. Stronger and the mechanism is more sealed against the elements, whereas the top winder has a convenient hole in the top for water to enter.

Also a sidewinding jack usually gives you more clearance to mount a toolbox.

IMO Brimar has a better reputation.
