This is the first project on my own place where I got to use the backhoe.
Before I even unloaded the new tractor I was doing jobs for other people...and word spreads first that a new tractor is in town! Can't complain though...the tractor easily generates enough income to make its own payments and then some.
When I finally had some free time I thought I would knock this little project out. This was one of those projects that had been on the backburner for quite a while because it required to much digging for my taste. Backhoe cured that problem...so heres the story.
I was given some damaged light poles from a church who had replaced them.
I took the four poles and built two good ones. One for me an one for my good ole mom's house. All the poles had the electric access covers missing but a little sheet metal covered those nicely. I used the hoe to dig the trench for the electrical from the house to the corner of the drive. Then at the corner I dug out for a footing to mount the light on. Formed it up and poured the concrete.
As you can see from the pics the yard looked like a disaster but heavy rains moved in about the time I was painting the poles and waiting on the new globes to be delivered. By the time the lights were ready to mount, the St. Augustine was almost filled back in.
