Cold water, warm humid air. Why not seperate them - insulate the tank?

Eigehrt insulate it or ignore it. The most probably failure will be the bladder before the tank rusts out. It is also not a "spendy" item to replace.

Mine sweats every summer, and it has lasted 23+ years. I don't think that the extra expense of a Fiberglas tank is a wise investment. The way that I see it, let the next owner worry about a better tank for replacement. It isn't going to rust through in my lifetime. In fact, there is no rust on the tank itself yet, only on the very bottom where the paint was scratched off by moving on the concrete when it was placed in 1983.

Mine sweats so bad it makes a little pool on the garage floor where it lives. But the OP did say that the water was warmer than the ambient temp. Why was it sweating.
As for freezing, my tank is in my garage and will not freeze but the well head froze once when it was about 10 degrees (very rare down here). A minimal amount of insulation prevents that in this part of the world.
