On a side note, this happens almost every year around here. Guys go back to where they normally hunt and blaze away sighting their guns in the week before season starts. Yesterday the gunfire was crazy around here, hunting season starts today. Then they complain they see deer all year but not when hunting season starts. LOL

After reading your comment I was thinking .44, which would lead me to believe the guy was an idiot for a 200 yard shot for deer (my opinion only, yours of course may vary). Seems it was most likely a Contender since I had read it was a "single shot pistol, which would lead me to believe it was a rifle caliber.

Yeah, my guess is it was a contender in a rifle caliber. The round hit her hip and she probably bled out pretty quick...**** shame

Just like any sport there are idiots who participate in it. Problem is the net result is people dying.
Our neighbor is allowing a buddy to hunt on his property. There is no home on that property yet so no danger to my neighbor. Buddy has his tree stand set up such that he would naturally be facing my property. House, barns, HORSES .... so finally met the hunter and he seems reasonable. However the woods that he has access to are no more than the size of a football field. To his north is my neighbor's property and another 800 feet to the road.
To the east is Me.
To the south is another parcel that is wooded and I know someone hunts back there.
To the west is a major 4 lane limited access highway.
Not really a good place to be hunting.

This is inexcusable. These people are NOT true hunters. A real hunter will ALWAYS absolutely know his target and be safe. NEVER allow the muzzle of any gun to move in the direction of something you are not going to shoot. Absolutely never. I don't care where you are. Oh me, sad about this.
