John Deere 2210
I have a John Deere 2210.
The only 2 things I want are " Cruse Control " and " Dual Rear Brakes ". Other than that... I am very pleased /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
Does anyone know of any kits to add dual rear breaks or Cruse? I figured when I bought it I could easily buy all the parts off the 4110 (or such) but it seems to be a very expensive venture. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
This is my 1st post on this forum.

Welcome to the Forum
Do you have positraction? If so, would you need individual brakes?

Also, you might look at the magnet cruise control on the 4000 series Deere tractors that 'hold' the forward pedal in position to 'cruise'. It's different on the e-hydro's.

Thanks for the reply! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have a differential with a manual differential lock.
When I push the brake pedal... the differential lock automatically engages to apply breaking to both.
I would like the option of steering with the rear breaks for grading my road and plowing slow.
I have about 900' of road to plow and can only steer with the front. I have been comparing with the JDParts website but can not tell yet if it is a totally different trans (where the brakes are housed). /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The Cruse Control on the 4010 uses a ratchet against the forward pedal linkage. I think I could make it work but I can not simply order the parts off the 4010 (because my 2210 has the parking break in the way of where the 4010 cruse parts go). I wish I had a JD dealer in my backyard to spend a few days with the two tractors in front of me. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This statement I didn't understand. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif My differential lock doesn't have anything to do with braking, but allows power applied equally to both rear wheels, thus stopping a spinning wheel. Maybe that is what you meant. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I hear you on wanting wheel brakes. I also would like individual rear wheel brakes for steering too (on my X485), but would have to figure out a way to do it (such as adding disc brakes to the left and right rear axles, and a way to fit the calipers on them, and a way to control each caliper).

Your 'ratchet' cruise control is similar to the X485 too. Maybe that would be handier to look at. It is simply a lock that is spring loaded and will trip off if the forward hst pedal is pressed a bit, or the master brake pedal is touched. I find having cruise to be a very useful feature on my X485, and wouldn't want to be without it. But again, the magnet capturing the forward hydro pedal may be the simplest way to get cruise (see any of the 4000 series, 4200 and above).

Your 485 should have the same differential lock-braking.
There is only one brake in the trans and when you push the pedal, it locks the differential lock, to give you both rear wheel braking. Otherwise you would only have braking (in my case on the left rear wheel only) on one wheel.
Now, don't get me wrong... my 2210 is a great machine. I would not want a bigger machine... as with the 2210, I can dig down 7" lower than the comparable equipped 4115 (because of the smaller tires). The only difference for my needs were the cruse and dual rear brakes. I found it much more important to dig down deeper.
Yes... If there was a kit with some disc brakes. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I will have to check out the Magnetic Cruse. That sounds like a good idea also. My wife is pulling me out the door right now so I will have to get back into this investigation later today. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
